Technology is everywhere around us: medically, economically and physically. It is the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes, in this case, in our society. With the ubiquitous phenomena of rapidly advancing technology in the modern world, the average man would wonder — is technology more of a boon or a bane to society? Regarding this burning issue, I cannot help but deep-seatedly agree that technology is more of a boon to society due to its effectiveness of enabling faster processes, easier work and finer results.

Being part and parcel of everyday life, technology enhances our lives by enabling us to live more efficiently, effectively and efficaciously. It allows us to make use of a combination of systems and devices to further improve our lives. Such examples can be found in the invention of the computer and printer, which quickly superseded the electric typewriter in the 1970s and 1980s, and the progression of the mobile phone from big, bulky, buttoned handsets to slim, pocket-sided, touch-screen smartphones. These unique developments from the Industrial Revolution contribute greatly to the world that we live in today, diverging from their spectrum of different functions, in this case, communication. They make our lives much more easier, convenient and less time-consuming than previous technological devices. Products manufactured from technology, such as the television and code-encrypted security devices have also supported ergonomics and forged itself as a requisite tool to society. Nowadays, simple clicks and taps of a single finger are able to carry out tasks that would have been more tedious in the past. Communication is capable even from a hundred miles, just by using a handy mobile phone. Therefore, technology has, in its every contribution, played a much deeper role of benefiting the society and its people.
