Technology helps us to reuse our resources such that our resources are enough for all mankind. Technology enables food to be preserved by adapting to the environment conditions so that food spoilage will be prevented, hence increasing lifespan of food. One example is Pickling. This technique involves dipping the food in some liquid chemical that prevents the growth of micro-organisms but still maintains edibility of the food. The preserving liquids used are vinegar, brine, alcohol and some other oils. This process is known as chemical pickling. The other way of pickling is by fermentation. In fermentation pickling, the preservation agent is produced by the food itself during the process of fermentation. Hence, I agree that technology is more of a boon than a bane to society as the use of technology creates innovate way of preserving food such as pickling hence increasing food lifespan, and prevent limited food resources.
